Default Cats?

I am thinking of replacing with high flows or removing my catalytic converters. Any input will help. Louder? Less MPG? Check engine light? Anything? What should i replace with?

Be sure the state you live in isn't a bunch of a**holes aboot smog. And here's a good tip if they are..if your car has 4 cats, make damn sure you have 4 cats when you go for smog testing. And you will need MIL eliminators to keep the Check Engine light from comming on. Steeda sells them for around $70.00 or so.

$65 for steeda MILS.
Just make sure you dont put flowmaster w/o the cats because afte 3k RPM it sounds rediculous. Go with magnaflow or mac.

Actually, it sounds amazing up until 3k RPM, then its like i have a civic in there after 3k rpm. The smell isnt that bad. I feelthat i gained hp but lost some torque due to less back pressure. It does have a much better pickup though. Its not too loud that it aannoys you, its perfect and idles nice. What state do you live in, if its CA you can forget it.

Edit: my exhaust is setup where its straight piped, then an xpipe with the mufflers right infront of the axle on an angle.

Bro, no offense but it doesnt sound good. I dont mean to be an azz and sound cocky or anything, but mine sounds twice as good as yours. To prove you guys wrong, ill put up a sound clip.
Ive heard far too many hollow flowmasters to reccomend them to anyone. Once again, IMO.

All I am saying is, quit slamming Flows. A LOT of the Stangs here have them, and the owners are quite satisfied. I respect your opinion, but not how you express it. In other words, quit saying they sound like rice. Just say something like, "IMO, Magnaflows sound great." Or, "I highly recommend Magnaflows". This way, you are not insulting ppl with other types of parts. Ok?
