Default Some basic questions...

I just got a 02 V6 last week, my first car. But im looking for more power, among other things. But i couldnt figure out to find a few things

1- whats the best way to tell if it has a trac-lok?

2- whats an easy way to find if it has ABS?

and now the power questions!

Do throttle body spacers actually work? the ones i looked at said they gave up to 9 hp and 2 mpg. or are they BS, like the tornado?
Are there any other cheap mods i should do first before going to bigger things? I was looking at pulleys, coldair/MAF upgrade, and the spacer if it works.

well if both wheels spin when you do a burnout it has a t-loc..or u could just ask the previous owner..it might say in your owners manual if it has abs i dont have one so idk. i havent heard of a throttle body spacer that adds 9hp. as for hop ups ALOT of ppl get CAI, pullies and exhaust

As for ABS, when you turn the key to the run position all of your systems do a self check. The ABS, SRS, etc. light will come on. If your car has ABS, the ABS light will light up.

1) Unless someone put it there,,NO, you do not have a T-Lok(6ers all come with an open dif)..do a burnout as stated, but do it on a paved street. On gravel or dirt, both wheels may still spin.
2)Slam on the brakes HARD look for a green tire like icon to light up on the dash
3)T/B spacers are a complete waste of money and will do absolutly NOTHING but lighten your wallet. MAF upgread will also do absolutly NOTHING for you unles you go s/c or t/c. Pulleys, CAI, and a tuner will work wonders.

Most ppl begin with a CAI. MAC and K&N are the best way to go. Then they go for either dual exhaust or UDP's. Be careful tho, once you begin modding..it's hard to stop. It's addictive! [8D]

Try here for the CAI AUTOBADGES FTW!!
I would go here RPM Outlet for the 42% pulleys. Option A is a good deal.

the green tire is the traction control, if it has abs find either a gravel parking lot or when it is raining push the pedal to the floor at aboot 15 mph

as to start, add an intake exhaust, tune and gears with a t-lok
