exhaust help please
i think i'm just going to get this... i just want the look... check it out. http://www.macperformance.com/store/...ategory_ID=470 I have a '99 so i want the one in the middle because that would be very easy to install myself and all i want is the dual tips really, i don't care about performance. And ANYTHING will sound better than stock
Yep, no life, all I do is work and post, that's about it, man I can't wait for school to start back up, at least then I got some on a regular bases.[&o] Now to finish what Casey was talking about. X pipes and h pipes are crossover pipes, meaning they allow airflow to cross over from one pipe to the other to allow for better air flow. Only catch is that V8s are the only engines that really needs cross overs as we (GTers) have an uneven cylinder fire, in other words, one side may have two cylinders fire, while the other bank is preparing to fire. V6s have an even fire, in that both sides fire evenly, your fire is 1/4, 2/5, 3/6, the air comming out of the engine leaves pretty equaly and a mid pipe won't really do much for you performance wise, but it will drastically affect your tone. X pipes are more mild than H pipes, but allow you to keep more sound control in the upper revs, while h pipes are louder and don't have quite as good sound control in the upper revs, straight pipes do basically the same tone, but have the same tone problems.
Nicely said jeremy thank you for finishing that up for me i had to go to work, made 130 in tips tonight also!!!!! NotRiceForSupper i have that catback from MAC its about to be installed on thursday by me and my uncle so ill post back when im done and tell you how it went.
EDIT: also ive heared this catback 3 times in person and everytime its sounded great and that is why i recommend it in every exhaust thread. Yes it dosent have an x pipe or an h pipe but who cares it sounds awesome and seems to be well worth the money!

ok I have it down to a couple of setups.
1. MAC 94-04 3.8 V6 2.5' Cat Back System with 3' Stainless Steel Tips with Mustang V6 Dual Exhaust Adapter Kit (94-98 V6)
2. Flowmaster Force II Exhaust System Mustang 3.8L 1998
3. Flowmaster 40 Series Muffler 2.5 inch with Borla Single Round Angle-Cut Intercooled Tip (each) with I guess piping from the auto shop that would be installing it?
Which do you guys think will be the best for my car?

Like i said earlier your not gonna gain to much performance wise its more about sound for us sixers, now if you can afford the borla then go for it man!! But if not then id go with MAC i love the MAC systems best bang for the buck im telling you!! Goodluck with whatever choice you make though and remember your the one that has to drive the car so you choose what you want to go on it!
Don't get that V6 exhaust adaptor thing, if your gonna do mid pipe work, then get another mid pipe as your stock cats are highly restrictive. If your state does smog emissions, then get a mid pipe with high flow cats, if they don't then get an off road mid pipe (don't forget the MIL eliminatiors) they don't have cats and will give your car a deeper tone and will just all around sound better.
No stupid questions can ever be asked bro...We are here for help... I have Flows with no mid-pipe it sounds go at low RPM's but at WOT it sounds raspy. Thats my review...i hoped it helped. BTW Harv has a sound clip same setup as me just a x-pipe. Sounds good to me. check it out in the exhaust sound thread on the top by the other stickys.
