Default exhaust help please

Ok I have a 1998 v6 3.8 automatic mustang. I don't know much about exhausts and wanted help chosing which would be the best for it and what the total price would be with installation. Don't know what H or x pipes are. what are the difference? all I know is my mustang has one pipe coming out the back. sorry if some of my questions are dumb.

Plus this thread CLICK ME shows the typical flowmaster setup.

Your going to get mixed opinions about what brand to with, if you dont have a lot of money MAC gives the best bang for the buck. If youve got some money get mags (magnaflow) or borla. H and X pipes are what you call mid pipes. you have two pipes running from your cats right now those two pipes go into something called a y pipe when the pipes run into the y pipe the other side of the y pipe is only one pipe that is why you have a single exit exhaust. and x or H allows you to have two pipes come out the back. I dont have the time to get into H and x pipes so ill let someone else. Your total price + installation will depend on where you get you exhaust from and what the shop charges you for an installation. Im sure Jthorn will type you up some pics cause he has no life lol.

Ok I see alot of different systems, but most are for 99 mustangs, 4.8L ones, 98 GT, or V8. I was wondering if i could still use one of those systems on my 1998 v6 3.8L mustang? Thanks for your help.

Yes you can. But it sounds like crap. IMO, a set of Flowmaster 40's, or ForceFlows from Summit Racing, with an X-Pipe sounds great. Some are gonna argue MagnaFlow, and they sound good as well.
