Default CAI install question

I was installing my CAI to my '00 stang, and I can't seem to make it fit. Yes it is a generic brand ( I know I know), the pipes seem to fit, but where the actual intake is, there is a little rubber hose coming off the same engine part, which I don't know what it does, but it was originally plugged into the intake. But the hose won't reach the new intake's hole for it. suggestions?

Its an extremely tight fit, no matter which brand it is.
