I have a scanner, the code that comes up is P420.

the same thing happened to me. i took it back to the FORD dealer and they fixed it and it hasnt came on since.

No dont put tape over the light or take the bulb out!!
When your check engine light comes on it means one of your 4 plugs are bad. Therefore you will be burning more gas as the engine is trying to adjust itself to the busted sensor. Only way to do it is to replace all 4 of them. And disconnect/reconnect the battery.

1st: It was a joke and regarding the topaz, I went for a loooong time.

2nd: The check enging light could be a multitude of problems, not just plug problems. A diablo or SCT will read codes too
