why do some people say they have a 3.9 mustang? i thought it was 3.8? this is probably a really noobish question

2004 is 3.9 i think the anniversary cae is 3.9 i know that

Late model 04s are 3.9L, early04 and back are 3.8L.

yes and with a little $$$$$$$$$$$ they can be a 4.3 stroker

the 3.9 is basically the 3.8 cept a longer stroke that they just used out the freestar when they ran outta 3.8s and thye just used em cuz they knew the 4.0's would go in the v6s next year. thats it, with no power gains bettween the two engines, minus 1-3 hp/tq, which really doesnt make a difference.
