WTF?!?!
could be the pads or the tires....skidding usually is tires...but if you are pressing harder and harder to get the car to stop then its your pads. But then again in the RAIN many things can happen..try it in regluar weather
tonight I was driving around and I tried the brakes several times. I tried pressing pretty hard and I could feel the pedal rumble a little bit when it started to brake, is that normal??? Nevertheless, it did stop much better when it was dry today. I think my rotors may have been just wet and also maybe some old pads.
i vote being more careful in the rain, maybe that's just me though. just recognize the problem and don't recreate it instead of wondering why your brakes don't work when you're jamming them to the floor on a slick road going downhill (which equals more momentum which means it's harder to stop). all the inertia of the car going forward is going to be too much for the tires to keep rolling because they have a lot less grip in the rain and what you're doing is literally holding the front wheels still when you press the brake too hard.
