i vote being more careful in the rain, maybe that's just me though. just recognize the problem and don't recreate it instead of wondering why your brakes don't work when you're jamming them to the floor on a slick road going downhill (which equals more momentum which means it's harder to stop). all the inertia of the car going forward is going to be too much for the tires to keep rolling because they have a lot less grip in the rain and what you're doing is literally holding the front wheels still when you press the brake too hard.

Its not like I was doing it on purpose. I had to stop quickly because the person in front of me stopped really fast.

Should I get just front pads or the whole set, and how much would it cost me to get new pads bought and installed?? Anyone know???

i never said you did it on purpose, but you obviously weren't being cautious because you could have prevented that problem by following at a safe distance. i really don't think the pads are the immediate problem, but if you do the brakes, just go ahead and do em all so you have a reference point to notice premature wear on individial pads
