My transmission went out on my 98 v6 mustang Auto.
I went to get it replaced and they swapped out my old one and put a rebuilt one for $2000
I got the car back yesterday and now the car shuts off when I speed up past 45mph
Whats the dealio? I had it towed back to the shop where they are going to look at it and test it out more.
Is there something else that could be wrong other than the transmission?
When I first took it in it wouldnt get into drive at all until it would pick up speed then it would ingage and shift thru the gears. This time it engages right away and takes a little longer than usual to reach 45mph then shifts and shuts off.
This is freaking me out!!

 

Well the shop called and said a wire was loose to one of the sensors and they plugged it back in and it seems to work fine now.
They are going to pay for the towing. Best news I have heard all week. I hope!!
