Default I found the problem.

I found out what the ticking noise is coming from my car. Everyone says its do to a leaking or cracked ehaust in the manifold or cats. So I had Midas check my exhaust for leaks to see wear the ticking sound was coming from, and weather the exhaust was the cause. There is no cost, they will check it for free. I waited 40 min. When I got the car back the guy told me it was the flex plate in the transmission and the injectors making the ticking sound. So it wasnt the valves or exhaust, thank god.

Here comes the question

But is ticking sound from the tranny and/or the injectors normal for this car? The man told me the car was fine and was nothing wrong. Should I take his word for it? They checked for the ticking and thats where they pin pointed it. Im afraid if I ask another mechanic I might hear something different. Is ticking from a tranny flex plate and injectors a bad thing? B/c u know, any noise or problem from a tranny especially is never good. Im just glad its not the valves and secondly the exhaust.

Default RE: I found the problem.

hey, i had a similar problem too. brought it to the shop and they said it was the transmission mount. had it replaced for 300+ including labor. i recommend getting a second opinion on it. it could be something serious.
have a good one!
