that torque will only lead me to believe that it's a stroker.

i have never seen a 302 produce only 277rwhp but almost 370ftlbs

277rwhp on a 302 makes about 300tflbs max and has the following or similar mods.

X303 cam
ported E7's or GT40 iron heads
ported stock intake or GT40 intake
aftermarket longtubes or good shorties
70mm TB

that engine is either a 327 stroker or mild 347 stroker with torque like that

302's are not torque producers with their short 3" stroke they need more to make 370ftlbs while only 277rwhp

to make 370ftlbs with a 302 you would most likely be at least 350rwhp

 

Here's an easy question: Does the car have longtubes? All you have to do is pop the hood and look.
