I'm a fan of the dead pedal, too. Just feels more comfortable. I have an auto, so it doesn't matter, but I can't imagine a manual without it.

Just a little update, found out something that added to my confusion. Apparantly, for SOME reason, the guy before me replaced the dead pedal with a gas pedal (it obviously still doesn't do anything, but its the EXACT same pedal as my accelerater).

At first I was like "Oh, well that makes sens----what the hell?"
