quick easy brake question

Default quick easy brake question

anyone know a good way to compress the piston when youre doing brakes. i know mustangs have to spin as you compress them. theres some tool out there but does anyone else know a different way, or where to get the tool? thanks

put 1 of the old brake pads on the piston then use a c clamp to compress th piston but make shore that you do the 1 side and put it all together before u do the other side or it will just shoot the other back out

The tool you're referring to is used for the rear. It can be purchased through any major tool distributor. You can probably even rent one from Autozone. I don't recommend using anything other than the specific tool. You don't want to damage the piston. The front pistons will just push right in, and the rear turn and compress.

Yes you can rent the tool from AutoZone, I work there part time.

Remember to also remove the master cylinder cap when you push the piston in.

tommorow im installing rotors and pads in front. ive never done front brakes on my car, only rear. so thats good to know about the font. any suggestions on things not to forget haha?
