D2D launch
Heres an idea. Take it from someone on the boards who ACTUALLY HAS FIRST HAND EXPERIENCE ON A TRACK with a near stock auto: D2D does NOT improve your ET. Its just the good 'ole *** dyno. Like when you drive an auto as a DD/weekend killer, and then ride in a slower manual, even though it FEELS faster, it isnt. Thats all D2D is. There is only one time when manually shifting your stock auto makes a difference, and thats when your're cruising along and need to downshift on the fly because of some rice burner trying a fly-by.

1-2-D, car shifts in to second you can hear a sliding sound (rear tire cutting loose)
D-2-D, there is a loud bark from the rear end of the car (im stock)
actually so i guess you could be right, breaking traction causes a lower e.t

When you go from 1-2-d do you need to take your foot off of the gas when shifting?
My dad neglects this info.....

Either way when you 1-2-d you will experience a little less than 2 seconds between when you tell it to shift and it actually shifts.

the D-2-D will cut almost .10 off of a 1/4 time over just letting the tranny shift itself or the 1-2-D shift.
i used to do this with old Fox bodies back in 90. it works. you have to master the timing of it though or it doesn't do much at all.
done correctly the 1-2 shift will take less than 1/4 second and will give a hard shift and most likely a loud bark from the tires
i probably have more track time in my little finger than you have in your whole body

end of discussion.
if you don't believe me ask Jerry from ford chip. he is the guy that developed the Jerry mod ( J-mod) for the 4R70W and was one of the engineers at ford that developed the 4R70W

What does the QM times you got out of a 5.0L mustang have to do with the QM times of a split port V6? In the 7 months of me going to the track, i have tried the D2D pattern 70% of the time during the test and tune runs. It has never improved my times. It could be me. But that doesnt make ME full of crap. Especially when the evidence you throw at me is your experiences in a C4 equipped 5.0 fox.
