D2D launch
I found this in a post that someone else had, but that kinda got whored up by people who were argueing about whoring up posts. how bad exactly would it be for my car, and does it really work that well? (note: I have a 1998 sixer with an auto)

there is a difference, slightly. if u let the tranny shift by itself its sluggish. if you do this it firms it up and seems like it shifts faster than letting it go by itself.
but only worry about it if you have an auto.....

You can get the same effect doing a 1-2-D. I prefer to do it that way b/c you can push first gear a little farther.

my procharged 98 ( before the shift kit) and my stock 99GT will break the tires loose with the D-2 shift.
it shouldn't be done all the time just to be on the safe side. but for track use the D-2-D should be used for the best times and no powerbreaking with the stock converter. all you do is heat up the trans by powerbreaking with the stock converter. it's best to just stay at the line at idle RPM and mash the accelerator to launch then the D-2 for the 1-2 shift, run 2nd to about 4800rpm's and back up into drive
