What does the QM times you got out of a 5.0L mustang have to do with the QM times of a split port V6? In the 7 months of me going to the track, i have tried the D2D pattern 70% of the time during the test and tune runs. It has never improved my times. It could be me. But that doesnt make ME full of crap. Especially when the evidence you throw at me is your experiences in a C4 equipped 5.0 fox.

sorry you are full of crap. i have been doing the D-2-D shift since you were probably still hangin on your mommy's tit.
the D-2-D will cut almost .10 off of a 1/4 time over just letting the tranny shift itself or the 1-2-D shift.
i used to do this with old Fox bodies back in 90. it works. you have to master the timing of it though or it doesn't do much at all.
done correctly the 1-2 shift will take less than 1/4 second and will give a hard shift and most likely a loud bark from the tires
i probably have more track time in my little finger than you have in your whole body

Heres an idea. Take it from someone on the boards who ACTUALLY HAS FIRST HAND EXPERIENCE ON A TRACK with a near stock auto: D2D does NOT improve your ET. Its just the good 'ole *** dyno. Like when you drive an auto as a DD/weekend killer, and then ride in a slower manual, even though it FEELS faster, it isnt. Thats all D2D is. There is only one time when manually shifting your stock auto makes a difference, and thats when your're cruising along and need to downshift on the fly because of some rice burner trying a fly-by.

no my experience is mostly with my procharged 98 with the D-2-D shift.
i knew about it with the AOD back when i built a few 5.0's for friends and tested the cars for them at the track.
it's you or your tranny is very mushy. even when my 98 was bone stock with 2.73's the D-2 would bark the right rear tire and the shift was instantaneous. like i said timing is crucial with the d-2. i miss it sometimes that's how little margin of error you have to perform it

for my lil sixer and auto, I dont really like the d2d becuz with 12d you can push 1st to its peak. downside, at least on my car, the shift is actually quite sluggish and and it can take about 1 sec or so b4 the shift actually takes place. I dunno if hp peak is the same for all sixers, but in '00 the peak hp was at like 5250rpm, and under full throttle, my car usually shifts at like 4000rpm. but i guess its just how you feel best. otherwise, take a stopwatch out there and see what you find.

my 99 GT shifts alittle on the low side about 5100 but still the D-2 shift really barks the tires or even breaks them loose. my 98 before the shift kit would send the *** end all over the place on the D2 shift if i didn't heat the Fulda Extremo's up. heated up the Fulda's were like drag radials even though they are an autocross tire with a 180 treadwear.
if people don't believe the D-2 works then they need to research the 4R70W
