Yea the 351W is a great investment, but they're not exactly cheap. I know, I've been looking into them.

there's so much to worry about before the block, i dont see why that matters, but they should hold anywhere from 400-500whp

I can build you a 393ci Windsor making more hp than what your 331 is making right now, for less than what your SBF cost, and it has MORE room for improvement via stronger main webbing/deck height

Africkan: The 302 Windsor doesnt make it past 500-550hp without splitting. And thats a problem, because it is relatively easy to get to those levels.

-My rule is, if the person you are buying it from isnt willing to let you take it to a shop and have it inspected, then they are hiding something. Just me. It isnt anything related to poor maintenance, just the way Ford cast it, 500hp is where it breaks.

that's what aftermarket blocks are for...if you can afford 500hp you can buy a block

So true.[&o]

Now they can be pushed into the 600 and even 700 rwhp range, because a few guys, Pro5.0 being one of them, that has done it, but I have no idea as to what you need to do to make the block hold up. Speaking of which, it's about time I ask, because I'm about to be getting pretty close to that 400 rwhp mark.

World Industries/Dart make VERY nice SBF blocks. Thick, THICK webbing and cylinder walls, you can buy them with complete rotating assemblies, etc.
