what kind of oil should i get for my 96 mustang? Im going to change it myself soon.....so i just need some suggestions.

 

Motorcraft 5W20 and a Motorcraft filter. Go with what the guys that designed the thing say to use.

i use castrol usually, but motocraft is good oil.

 

mobil one 5w20 15,000 mile , sounds like overkill but u want only the best for ur car. it makes a huge diff, u should see the inside of a engine that uses standard oil versus the mobil one, its a big diff

 

Everybody gets different oils for their cars. I use Penzoil because my dad uses it and his dad used it. Its basically a personal preferance as far as the brand.

 

Differences "by brand" is mostly false. Although there are many brands out there, there are only 3 large oil companies. Example...Super Tech, Penszoil, and Quaker State all come out the same tap, and are identical.

I may be wrong, but isnt 5w20 used in 02+ models? Your 96 should use _w30 oils...
