Wheel Hop
I have spun my tires a few times in reverse, some on purpose, other on accident, but when I do it, I get some nasty wheel hop. I can burn rubber all day long in 1st, but reverse just jumps around. Is there a reason why? I've only done it like twice, but I decide I'd better stop so I don't break something.
it may have to do with the fact that those tires are never run in that direction, i know that it is said to be justa myth that u cant reverse the rotation of ur tires but i still have some old school thoughts about that one, i would def stop and just have some fun in 1st
yeah, I don't mind burning em once in a while, since they are wal-mart tires, and have an 80k miles warranty, and they are fairly old, so they're still under warranty, but putting on excessive wear now won't look like they were abused because they were barely used beforeI bought the car.
Puting too much load on your gears in reverse is a real easy way to destroy a rear end. I've seen a lot of people start spinning in reverse only to have it lock uo when all the ring teeth shear. If you know what a ring and pinion looks like then you know thet all the teeth are angled for forward movement.
