Default Brake problem?

I bought my car a few months ago, and when I bought it the owner had just put on new front and rear brakes. I took my car to a shop to check them and they're saying that they're practically new still. However, it seems like my stopping distance is increased dramatically and it's really hard to press the brake. Not to mention the brake only goes in about 1/4 the amount that it used to. Anyone know the problem? They said brake fluid, pads, rotors were all fine.

You might want to flush the brake system. 99.9% of car owners never do that and fkuid can get moisture in ti and water doesn't compress. Also the pads he put on may not be very good, he might have gone with cheapies to save money.

I'm one of the 99.9% I'll try that this weekend. Thanks

How exactly do you flush that out?

upen the bleeders and let it all run outmay take a while unless u have a brake vaccume pump or a brake compressor pump
then close bleeders and fill the master cylinder up and bleed until no air is in lines

Not if you have a foot to press the brake pedal

yes but then you need a friend to open the bleeder while you press and close it before you let off the pedal

Have a hot co-ed come over and pump the unit until all the fluid is exchanged.

Good one

You need to force the old fluid out. You can buy a bleeder tool that lets one guy do it or have a friend push the peddel and start at the right rear brake. Keep bleeding till the fluid looks almost clear, like new fluid. Next the left rear, the right front and finally left front. Just make sure you keep the fluid level up and don't let it run out or you'll have start all over again.
