HELP!!!
My sisters stang had a dead battery (the cold weather sucks) and someone jump started it, and i was sitting in it to let it run for about 45 mins, and around 30mins later, it was having power surges (the radio and stuff was turing on and off) so i revved it up and then it just Shut off on me. what should i do?

the battery connections are fine, a little dust, but i can get that off. the battery is 2 years old, and it is not a big name brand one. could the alternator have anything to do with it?
what is the alternetors purpose anywayz?

Do you have a volt ohm meter? If you do get the car running and set the meter to DC volts and connect it to the battery. It should read at LEAST 13.5 volts, anything below that means the altenator is not charging it.
i have noticed and somebody told me that during the winter when it gets really cold (usually at the beginning of winter) the battery will take a crap on you...justfork out $100 and get her a new one
