This is a V6 shouldnt I be around 25 MPG stock?
HAHAHAHAHAHA sorry to say but the V8s get the same gas mileage
Mines an 04, 5 spd. and gets 17.5 city if I keep my foot out of it.
That's what I get in the GT with 4.10s
That's what I get and I eat GTs.
you should probably say stock or near stock GTs.
Yea I don't think he'll eat my 100 shot[sm=badbadbad.gif]...still sounds like a pretty nice sixxer.
It may not be flaming but it's not positive either.
No flaming just thought it was funny because the OP made it seem as if since it's a V6 it should get good gas mileage[&:]
I wouldn't think they would though, since its pretty much got the same displacement per cylinder as a 5.0 (actually slightly more per cylinder), just lacking 2 cylinders, so thats probably what kills our mileage.

yeah, I got screwed on mileage too. The guy I bought it from was like "I easily get 19mpg in the city".

BS. My average so far, is about 13mpg.
Wow calm down on the gas pedal. Even with agressive driving I would cry if I got 13 mpg

Well the general though among "regulars" is that 4 cylinder=nasty(good) gas mileage, 6=decent/good, 8=terrible gas mileage. Hell I was surprised on how bad the V6s do on gas at first. I figured low 20s for some reason in the city.

Stock vert GTs=not worth the gas
Stock GTs=slow
Bolt-on GTs=not too much better
Cammed or FI would be a different story. (for now)

And my best straight highway MPG is 33.4.

so i take it by saying bolton GTs are still pretty slow, you're running 12s in the quarter mile easily?

ahhh.. i take it you're referring to the ones that put on exhaust and intake and think they're badass.

a full bolton GT can run low 13s, handful of high 12s.

You're probably right there. Your statement attributes to probably 98% of the GT crowd, with their great sounding exhaust andbig *** rims and tires soaking up energy. They are a funny bunch when they become lunch for a FI 6er.

EDIT: After reviewing mod ford's forum, it will take every bolt-on available, plus suspension work, DR/slicks and one hell of a driver mod to get the low-13 high-12. I apparently haven't ran into them yet.

I just filled up my 97 today after it sat out the winter snow here in Michigan.
I started it about every two weeks and let it run for 15 minutes. When I got it out a few days ago I took it out on the highway and stepped on the gas a few times. Problem I had after letting it sit was the shift cable from the shifter to the automatic was sticking. I got the car back from the transmission guy a few hours ago.
I then drove it another almost 40 miles.
I got just a little better then 21 mpg and that's mostly city with a heavy foot a few times.
My car gets 30 on the highway if you keep it below 65.
So, I don't know what you guys are doing. But stop it and get better mpg.

Joe
