Default Warranty Claim

So my tranny seems to be acting up, and I purchased a 36,000 mile extended warranty on my car. My car is an auto and it doesnt shift when itis supposed to. It stays in the same gear for a really long time and then drop into the next gear. And sometimes when it shifts (only when im really punch it) it sounds like it slips into the next gear. I guess what my question is has anyone made a warranty claim? Will they not repair or replace the tranny if it is still able to drive?

it depends on whether or not you have maintained the transmission. have you ever had the fluid flushed, and the filter changed? the transmission may not be bad at all, those symptoms point to old fluid, if you haven't changed the fluid and stuff you should do that, how many miles on the transmission?

i'd say take it in then, and make sure to bring reciepts showing you had it serviced recently.

when you had it flushed, was it the cheap one (about $50-$70) or the full flush where they also flush the torque converter? ($90-120). this makes a big difference..

Is it still under the warranty, if it is just take it back and let em look at it. Just make sure they give you a estimate for whatever the cost will be to fix it. If it's not shifting correctly and it's under warranty I'd be there letting them know about it. Don't wait till the warranty is over and go complain.
