Default power adder question

i realize the most logical answer to this question is the procharger, but consider that i dont have that kinda money...what would be the best way to get a good amount of power (minus nitrous) outta my 97 v6. exaust is x-pipe straight pipes

You could go with an Eaton M90 supercharger. Not very expense at all and its not too complicated of an install for you model.. You can get the S/C online fairly easy and all the parts shouldnt be over $750.

Unfortunately as I recently learned its really hard for my model no fair.

P.S. Here's a thread with pretty much all the info you'd need to know to install the M90.

I have a friend who got one off eBay and he's installing everything in a week. He said his was perfectly fine and he got a great deal. It really depends on the seller though. If your worried about not having everything just double check on a parts list like the link I gave and if your still worried post a list of everything you've purchased on a thread on the forum and ask someone if theres anything missing.

Vortech kit can be pieced together for under 2k. There's a post on Pipes, Boost, Juice by I think Frostbitten? I'm too lazy to check it out, but it is titled something to the effect of "$1500 supercharger kit....". He has a link to some website which also escapes me at the moment, but all the parts needed are about $1200 minus the blower itself, which usually sells for $6-700 on ebay. Add in fuel pump and find a good deal on fuel injectors and you should be set. By the way, his setup is for a 4.6l, but you can get the instruction manual from Vortech's site for the 3.8, and then search the site named in the post for the part numbers. Still costs roughly the same.....I just wish I had 2k to blow......
