94-95 5.0's can be had for a good price. One in great shape with ~120K miles, and a few tasteful bolt-ons can be had for $5000. Factor in a 2.73 or 3.08 reaend witha .67 OD ratio and you will be getting equal or better MPG than a stock 3.8 Mustang.
Are you sure you want to get rid of a 86 GT with original T-Tops? It should be able to get good MPG if driven nice and easy. I guess the 4.10's aren't helping the cause.

Now would i need to upgrade the injectiors fuel pump maf Right away it i have the stock pully?

The motor is the same as yours.
The M-90 will make a nice addition but you really need to up the boost to 9 PSI, or even 11 to get any serrious gains out of it on an otherwise stock single port engine. Best thing to do would be to get the following:
M-90 SC from a supercoupe, most complete kit you can find
36lb fuel injectors
155lb hr fuel pump
80 or 90mm MAF set to the injectors
9 psi or 11 psi pulley
Get dual exhaust on the car to get rid of some unwanted back pressure after the mod
Then do the following:
make the necessary modifications to the fuel system so that the M-90 fits
port/polish the lower intake and the M-90 for better/cleaner air flow
Now depending on what boost you run you'll sit anywhere from 180rwhp-mid 200s and unless you're constantly romping on the S/C you'll get nearly stock MPG.

The gas mileage on the 3.8 is a hair better than a 4.6. Don't get a v6 for gas mileage, get it for lower insurance.
The supercoupe swap will work on 94-98 3.8's. I think the gains will put you a little above a stock split port 3.8. Those sn-95 motors are turds[:'(].

RE: 3.8 things
94 GT: Maintianed as far a I know how: Fresh fuel filter, fresh ignition componets(cap& rotor, 9mm FRPP wires, plugs) clean T.B, MAF, Royal purple in trans/rearend. Fresh O2 senors, exhaust work, UDP's,clean air filter, clean oil, tire pressure 40 psi.. That covers the car. Freah meaning last 10K miles.
Driving environment/style: 5speed tran shifted between 1500-1800 RPM, sometimes skipping gears. I drive it easy. Hwy: 60MPH @ 1900ish RPMs, Other road: 45 MPH max @1500 RPMs. 30-35 MPH in 5th =1000 RPMS.
Think about it, 1 or more MPG over the stock HWY figure is not that much. Most people wont drive like me, but thats their choice, and their gas bill. My method is accurate and consistent.
Feel free to critque.
And you said you had a "bunch done", that might be the reason right there. You might have just lowered your own BS flag.
I am open to any tip concerning efficiency, but really it is hard to beat my driving style as far as MPG go, not bragging , just a fact.

RE: 3.8 things
Jthorn: what do you have done to your car? GT40 heads? Other serious power building mods? A stockcar with a "stock" A/F ratio is going to get better MPG than a modded car, flowing a good deal more airand burning more gas, therefore making more power. If you have serious mods, I am guessing its tuned as well. To keep the A/F ratio safe, addtional fuel had to be added to your set-up and therefore gets 20-22 MPG on the hwy.
EPA MPG ratings are not absoulte. I am sure you good get 25MPG on a stock car back in 1994( I wont know personally, I was in kindergarten) even is driven more "normal."
Just because you do not see something happening, does not mean it is not possible. I expect a more reasonalbe/mature response from you than "BS". All I said I have a "5.0, 5spd, with 3.55's that get 25+ MPG in a hwy/town driving environmetnt" The first thing you say is BS because you " do not see it happening", "I get 20-22MPG." You did not know enough from my given info to justify "BS".
A better appoach might be " hey buddy, what techniques are you using to achieve a nice MPG figure?"
Then I respectfully provide my causes/effects for my MPG and you reply "okay, maybe, but no more than 25" I do not see the logic in that.
The metod is accurate. Fill up until the pump quits automatically. Reset trip(yes, accuarte speedo/odometer) Drive about 320 miles and refill(until it quits by itself)with 12.5-12.7 gallons of gas. The reason to quit when the pump does, becasue in theory it will cut off at the same place everytime(esp. if you use the same pump.)
