Ive raced vipers in my old 82 Granada with a straight 6. The viper had me on a light acceloration just driving normal but i raced one.

mods, straighshot air intake

my friends eclipse- 2003 gs 2.4 4cyl, AEM cold air intake, 5 speed manual tranny and a greddy exhaust that actually doesnt sound like rice
(more like a low hum than anything)

he got me by like 2 1/2 car lengths

 

i think your going to have a hard time beating that SI......dont they have 190hp and a weight advantage on a stang? with $400 dollars i think the best mod u could do would be a tuner from justin at vmp or a underdrive pully......if u kno how to install gears then that would be the best thing to do but i dont think you could find the gears and the install price for under $400....i have no experience with nitrious at all so i cant help u there..... but good luck and do it safe

I second the above post.
The new SI should dust a stock (or close to it)New Edge V6. They can be low 15 sec-high14 sec cars. Dont get me wrong, I hate them( UAW member), but I think it will win.

Another thing: All it takes for you to wantto do something illegal/unsafe is a little trash talk? You have got to be more responsable/mature with a car. Ignore it. Dont spend all your money trying this car or that car. It is a waste of time. Enjoy your car for what it is.

 

Gears @ mpsautosalvage or ebay approx $50, install @ $75/hr for 4 hours (max) 300. Still leaves you $50 for some stickers and a sportcompact car or modified magazine subscription

Or dry kit from dynotune nitrous $269, and $40 to fill the bottle = $309. You still have enough for an ebay window switch or a purge or something. Or better yet, use the change for when you take it to the track.

And how am i an ***.. everyone here wants to mod their v6 to have crazy numbers but a select few have acutally taken it to the track... riddle me this.. whats horsepower good for if ur against street racing and to scared to go to a track... Personally i HAVE street raced.. but, one of my bestfriendsdied in an accident like that and i dont do it anymore.. especially now that i have a Z28. You cant tell me that all you kids who are here with ur v6s and are speaking out against street racing have never street raced or pushed ur stang to the limit on the public highways of america... most of you are teenage kids who i KNOW have no self control when it comes to horsepower.. been there done that until myfriend died in his pos car... you happy now?
