OBDII Computer Tuning
I was talking with my buddy, who owns a subaru, and he was telling me how you can downloadsome open source tuning software to your laptop, and hook it up to your car with an OBDII cable, and can tune your car with downloaded maps and stuff. I was wondering if mustangs can do this? I mean, I know mine has OBDII, but I'd gladly spend the money for the cable and stuff, if I could download a fuel economy map for regular driving, and then when I"ve got some extra cash, load a map with advanced timing for some 93 octane (or maybe even race gas). ANyone konw if this is available for mustangs, 98's in particular? I konw you'll just say buy a handheld tuner, but I'd like to know if the computer thing is possible. And no, I'm not gonna mount it in my car either, I just want to be able to hook it up, change it, and then leave the laptop in the house, no ricer ghetto interioir mounted stuff.
either the Xcal2 or the Livewire, i dunno about the Diablosport. They both offer datalogging(on your computer) and different tunes that you can upload for performance/MPG/etc.

(and yes, the ava is supposed to be a joke)
ive been doing alot of research for this paticular thing, i am searching for one too, the only ones that i have seen that you can download are just sensor reading. like air and timing, things like that, o2 lvl, and it just checks it. now somehow mechanics have accually comps and drag racers do to with a program that does what you and i want to do, i have yet to find it or even know what it is called.
