Default rear end shift

My kid brother has a 2000 Mustang with a V6 (manual tran). He says he has been noticing some sort of a shift in the back end of the car when he is starting from a complete stop. Yesterday he was easing the car into our yard and as he let off the clutchI saw the rear wheel on the driver's side shake a little. I got him to do it again and the passenger side did it as well. I'm not familiar with the cars so I thought I would as some folks that might know before we take it to a mechanic or the dealership. Also this may help. My moron of a brother backed this car off the driveway. Its hard to explain everything but one wheel was in the air(hanging off the edge of the drive)and I believe the car was on the rear axle(driver's side).Any ideas guys?

Default RE: rear end shift

If he bottomed it out on the axle tube itself, then it is possible that he may have bent one of the tubes or maybe an axle flange. Does it have any kind of a vibration?
