Default ac prob

hey guys i have a problem now. I was coming home from school the other day and my air was taking extra long to get cool and finally it did and it lasted 4 just a minute then it went back to not being cool. so anyhow i decided somethign was wrong when that lasted 4 a few days. so today i take a look at it and i put freeon in it and the pressure was way high like over 100 and the clutch wasnt engaging when i turned the air on so i checked the fuses and all that good stuff and they were all ok so ithink i have a bad compressor does anyone have any ideas on what else it coudl be ?

I dont know about the clutch but its definitely the censor or plug. W/e its called. Its not connecting therefore your trying to fill it while its off so ya the pressure will be 100psi.

I don't remember off hand but 100 psi on the high side is not high, in fact it's low. What was the low side reading? You really shouldn't be adding to it though without knowing how much it should have. That's a very good way to blow up the compressor. Does your system have sight glass?
