Default Spark Plugs...

So, I did a little research on the boards, but couldn't find a post about it....

How do you get to the passenger side spark plugs on a 6 cyl 98?? I changed the driver's side 3, but don't want to start ripping things apart just yet.

Any suggestions??

use a longer levered wrench with a pivot head. about 45 degrees pivot will allow you to get down there with about a foot long lever. this will give you extra leverage too. having the right tools makes the job alot easier.

Thanks Blue!! That does help, and I have the tools, so I guess I just have to get in there and poke around.

Slightly different than my 2000. You will need to remove the air intake assembly and hose from the throttle body, get a 3/8" rachet with a wobble adaptor, and a 6" extension. The front cylinder passenger side spark plug (#4 i believe?) is a real pain to remove so don't be surprised if you get a scrapped wrist or hand from it. If you're changing the wires and they have the passenger side routed behind the engine (between the engine and the firewall) good luck getting them rerouted through there. The holder clips they have are hard to reach and made of plastic so they break very easily. I ended up rerouting mine across the top rear (behind the upper intake manifold) of my engine with zips to secure and heatwrap to protect.

Hayes manual is pretty handy for these types of jobs.

A 3/8 swivel adapter on your 3/8 extension. And like derf said, it makes it easier to remove the intake tube.

Swivel adaptor is what I meant! [&:] Wobble adapter won't give you the angle you need.

It's a pain in the *** with just regular rachets, but it can be done. I just replaced mine a month ago.
