89 2.3 to 5.0 conversion..Info needed PLEASE!!!
swapping over to a 5.0 is an absolute nightmare!!!!! Even if ya get it done, every time you have to diagnose a problem, the normal process is right out the window, as everything surrounding the motor will be for the prior engine.
If ya need more power, and are really set on this car, look into NOS or Turbo, don't do a swap.
Honestly, the 5.0 cars are all over the place, there are probably 50 on eBay right now.
Even if you buy a 5.0 with a blown motor, then swap, you are gonna come out better in the end.

I'd imagine the power-to-weight ratio benefits being amazing in the turbo-4... not to mention it would handle better than the heavier 302, what with the F/R weight distribution being closer to even. That'd be a cool project!
a 5.0 swap isnt that hard but it is time consuming....only benifit of doin a swap instead of just buying a 5.0 is you can lie to your insurance to get a lower rate for the 4cyl!!!!
ok soon as I learn new stuff I read this ..
so your tellin me if I have " and I do " a 89 LX thats all stock , so Im guessing its a 4.0 I would get more power if I swap it with a 2.3L .. and the 2.3L already fits right in , will cost less and give me more HP ??
