Default Need help with idle problem

I've searched the forums and read what I found. The problem I'm having wasn't ever figured out in the posts that i read, plus they were from 2003. Since I'm kind of a newb to v6 mustangs I want to get everybody'sinputon this forum before just blindly throwing parts at the problem.

I have a 94 mustang auto trans w/ V6. When i start up the car from being cold it idle's at 2k RPM's I put it in gear and it drops to 1100 Rpms. I drive it for a few minutes to warmthecarup and then the idle will stay around 1300 to 1500 RPM's inpark or nuetral.

Another symptom of this high idle problem is that the car seems to speed up on it's own when driving at slow speeds. At higher speeds it just seems like cruise control (which the car doesn't have).

The carsRPM will hang when you are coasting along then it will all of a sudden drop 3 or 4 hundred RPM's and sound like it's dying out. Then after a few seconds it will come back up to where RPM's were before sputtering.

I have had the car tested at Advance Autoparts and no codes were showing at this time.

The check engine light is not on.

From what i have read it almost sounds likethe infamous IAC.

I'm also leaning towards the TPC sensor too.

Please let me know what you think.

Thanks!

A sticky IAC valve can do that and not throw a code. You can try to clean it but it usually doesn't work well against carbon build up.

Any additional advice is appreciated.

Clean your MAF and IAC. See if your throttle body is sticking if the forst 2 don't solve it.
