alright heres my problem right around 60-70mph at WOT the car acts like it has a lack of power but once it gets to 70 it just gets back in it again like nothing was ever wrong. The shop i used to work at the owner said it acts like it just doesnt have enough torque right there. any help?

do you have a 5spd or an auto.....either way the upper gears are meant to be gas saving gears so upper rpm acceleration will be slow.....

I have to agree with slego on this one. 60 to 70 is a standard highway speed and V6 Stangs are econo hwy cars. When I put my 4"10's in it changed everything and now my RPM is around 2500 65 mph (if I remember correctly) and if I stomp on the gas at 65, it shoots like a bullet.

more power will help but better gearing will make the biggest difference....its hard to change gearing in the tranny but some 4.10s out back should liven it up a bit!!

definately change to a different rear-end gear and you'll be closer to you "power band" when you're at 70. Going from 4.10's to 3.27's will be a big jump. You'll be at about 2500rpms at 70mph. Compared to being at 2000 where there is almost no power.

you should just need the gears, but a shim kit could never hurt either.
