Default HIGH REVVING ENGINE!!!!

Whats up everyone?
The past couple of days my car has started reving up pretty high when I press the clutch in... When I take off, and shift, the engine stays up until I change gears, I mean high, like 3000rpms.Earlier tonighton theinterstate the car practically drove itself as my foot was barelytouching the gas. This is starting to bother me, I thought I had bad gas, vacuum hose leak, but I can't find anything yet. If I turn the car off and back on, it goes to 750rpm's like normal. When I take off, and shift at like 20mph, the rpm's just keep climbing until Ilet the clutch out. In the past 6months, I've put a bbk throttle body/spacer, dual exhaust with/flowmasters, udp set, cold air intakeand a regular tuneup. The car was running awesome until a few days ago.

I have a 2002 v6, she's got about 70,000mls. I keep everything changed and clean. Could it be the throttle body has buildup on it, carbon maybe? I've been meaning to change the fuel filter, but you need a special tool to do it.Throttle cable maybe stuck?? I havent gotten any check engine lights either.

Give me some ideas guys, I'm running out.

Only thing I can think of is a bad tach sensor.

First of all, take that garbage throttle body spacer off. It's only use in life is a paperweight. Goget the check engine codes pulled and come back and post them. On top of the MAF and TPS, i would clean your IAC. But you really need to get those codes for us to help you.

The engine isnt throwing any codes, thats the weird thing. And I'm gonna take the spacer out as well. Could someone post an illustration of where the tps would be. I know about the maf. Is there anything else to try?

Thanks for the answers so far.

My IAC got really caked up with crap too and the same thing happened. Cleaning all the crap out of it helped the car out a lot. Also check the to make sure that the EGR and EGR tube is not caked up with carbon either.

Those would be the first places that I would check if I had that problem again.

Best of luck

I actually had a very similar problem with my buick and it was the TPS. I heard if they get alot of mositure in them they go alot faster but I don't think thats true.

Most of the time cleaning the IAC is a waste of time, carbon build up doesn't clean out easy. I would take it in to a shop before I just start throwing parts at it though.
