i think he's asking if there is a company that makes long tubes for the 98 3.8. the answer is no. ive looked everywhere. however, ive read in several posts that the 94-97 long tube headers can be modified to work on the 98....someone confirm, please?

btw, also, from what i hear, you dont want the shorty headers for your model. the 94-98 stock manifolds flow just as well as the shorties.

the question is do i need the egr and if i do what the f is it for no one has told me that.

the only reason im looking at headers is because im saving up so i can just buy the whole exhaust system at the same time. instead of sepretly

OK it's real easy. 98's have the EGR up tube on the header in a different location from any other year.

basically all you have to do is cut the EGR tube about 4" from the valve then just use high temp silicon emissions hose to and hose clamps to mate it together. you may also have the lengthen the purge valve lines too.

a 96 LT header will work just fine if you do what i listed. although stock 98 headers flow extremely well. LT's will only give a small gain in torque. i am still running my stockers with my procharger setup

Still i would not get headers, Yours are the best flowing stock header style manifolds. You dont NEED it, but your gas milage will suffer. It recyles exghust back into the engine. Exhaust gas recirculation.
