It would probably be adviseable to go ahead and get a true-trac over the T-lok. The T-lok might not break but if it did then you would be out the money that you spent on the T-lok and on the install. That is assuming that you are going to supercharge.

You should definitely get some 4.10s if you want to accelerate faster. Dave's got some 4.56 He'll probably sell you! I've seen 5.13s on DTS.
You could get some decent gains from some ported heads and a cam for about $1375. Stage 2 ported heads $1000 (Add $150 for the core charge) and a regrind cam $225 from SuperSixMotorsports.com. You'll need longer push rods though. So add another like $100.
Or just get a 4.2 crank. I heard those were torque y.
