Default Dual Flowmasters Question

Last week I put in a dual catback system with Flowmaster 40s. (2007 v6) The drone in 5th gear is rattling my brain, and in 1st/2nd gear, after ~3k RPMs the sound goes very high pitched.

I thought about adding an X pipe to help with the drone/high pitch, but the guys at rpmoutlet said it probably wouldnt do much, and thats just the nature of Flow/40s.

Would I be better off looking for new mufflers, rather than trying a X or H pipe?

(I spent an extra $75 on some fancy tips that im kicking myself for now, because ill prob. have to get rid of them if I ditch the flows)

Ideas or suggestions? Thanks

just curious.... who knows how much different the tone of the 4.0 is compared to the 3.8???? i think the mufflers on the 2005+ v6s is behind the axle, does that have anything to do with it?

Get bigger pipes, for one. For two, yes! Go with the H pipe. For three, get high flow cats...Magnaflow makes a pretty good two way high flow. That being said, you can get rid of your four cat setup, and go with two, two way high flow cats. That will make a good difference. And, yes, muffler placement can change the way the car sounds. Further foreward, more mellow tone, further back, more of a loud buzz.

Also...Go with the Flowmaster single chamber mufflers. Totally badass sound. That's what I've got...I'll post a video later.

You go to a shop and ask them to make one for you...shouldn't charge you that much for it either...OR...you can go to a wrecking yard and get the H pipe that came stock on the GT and cut it off and ask them to weld in that h pipe section. Junkyard prices = win.
