I found this CAI here and I was wondering if it would work with my 2001 3.8L?

Yes it will ,looks like a straight shot system without a heat shield

Well it says it's for the 4.6L but does that really matter?

Just get one off of Ebay that you know will fit your car and has a heatshield. If it says 4.6L and you have a 3.8L...yea.
