13k would be a nice down payment on a 03/04 cobra also leaving you probably less than 10 grand to pay off which isnt bad. few boltons can easily put the cobra at 500rwhp with an engine/drivetrain already built for abuse.

no offence to the 6 guys i know alot of them have some fast v6's...but i doubt any of them are pushing anywhere near 500-600 horsepower.

or go with a 94-95 5.0 cuz i like those body styles alot more than the notch/fox body. if your aiming for the 5-600hp range i would not go for a v6. would be much easier to get the 5.0 up to those numbers (and parts for those are cheap). no offence to the 6 guys i know alot of them have some fast v6's...but i doubt any of them are pushing anywhere near 500-600 horsepower. find a cheap 5.0, build the engine a little and put a blower on it (youll also have to get supporting mods like clutch, fuel, tranny, rear end, and probably driveshaft to support that along with maybe a few other things).

You have to be pushing 600-700 to play with the big boys.

I say if you are going to be running around being loud, acting annoying and racing Hondas - get a V8 and be done. V6 owners already have a bad enough reputation.

your car is 500ish or was
Gary,Matt,J,Justin are all in the 450-just under 700rwhp level as well as many others.
my take on $13,000 at hand??
hard one. myself i would sink it into the 6 but that's me. i like to be different and prve people wrong about the "V8" or it aint **** urban ledgend. many of these guy's don't remember turbo buicks because they were not born yet or still hanging on a tit.
ford 3.8 is everybit as capable if not more than the turbo buick for making power which i seem to remember the buicks mopping the floor of 5.0's back in the day.
$13,000
4.2L crank
long rods from SSM to make it a 4.3 with better rod stroke geometry
heavily ported heads/custom intake
T70 (big T70)or T80 turbo or GT45R
Delk girdle
8.5:1 slugs
matt spec'd cam
built C4 with a 9" rear and 3500 stall with 3.50 gears
80lb Siemens injectors
SSM/Comp 1.7 rockers
all taking 25psi and most likely making 600+at the wheels
I love my fox.
and it always turns heads, not as common around here as the new edge mustangs. and it sounds great.
as for problems, yes you might run into a few more problems with a foxbody, but they aren't that bad. IMO

I forgot to factor in the age of the 5L and the fact it might have rust and corrosion. Bummer
In order to make a 99-03 V6 weild 400-500hp (or possibly higher) Do you have to go Turbo??
