Default Upper and lower P&P

What power gains can you expect if you do the Upper? And what about upper and lower?

Supersix just seems expensive. Anyone have a more reasonable price estimate that I could expect from a machine shop?

Probably 15-20 if you get both P&P. I can't imagine a machine shop being more inexpensive, because labor is thrown into the equation. It's easier just to get the manifolds and do the install yourself, and if you have a buddy that works for beer, that works too.

Their prices are actually pretty fair for what you're getting. It is cheaper to buy the parts and do it yourself though. That's why I have half an engine sitting in my garage right now.

I did mine and it was easy.
Just get a new set of upper and lower gaskets and use your old ones to match the port size, then follow that size all the way through the runner.

I used spray paint to outline the cast overlap on the manifolds.

With Ported, port matched upper and lower intakes, light intake runner head porting, larged exhaust porting, 96' stock headers and a custom VMP tune I am making about 210rwhp-ish.

After test driving a gold 2000 5spd(Same year as my engine) I got to feel first hand on just how badly I would kill that 2000, it also had 3.27 gears where mine has 2.73 (The dealer said it had 3.27's.)

Its a very worth while mod, but if you get SSM to do the work for you then you know an experianced hand is doing the work and you will get peak performance.

+1 on having SSM do the work for you.

The SSM price is for two things:

1) They don't just port match. Those are FULLY cut, ported and rewelded intakes. You'd pay a machine shop twice that.
2) They are ported to their specs, which were established and proven to be top notch.A machine shop will just open up the runners (which works). SSM has greatly improved the airflow in relation to the v6.
