Default Ball Joint

Hey guys I'm new here and I got a 95 v6 stang for a project car. When my friend found the car the lower control arm was laying on the ground and from what I can see its held on by the lower ball joint; correct? Well its completely gone and the car is resting on the front driver side tire. I just need it to drive so I can get it home. I know a lot of guys are saying replace the entire lower control arm but I just need to get it home. From searching on this site I know its do able if I rent the ball joint press. I know the rotor and brakes have to come off but what else needs to come off and are there any common hang ups I'll need special tools for? I'm doing this at a remote location for the first time and want to know what to take with me. Thanks for your help guys.

You don't need to remove anything. Just press the ball joint in and bolt it up.

you will have to hammer the old one out and try to tap the new one in bas far as you can go without marring it then put the nut on the otherside and give it hell with an impact gun

www.autozone.com has balljoints fairly cheap if you haven't gotten one yet

If it's a project car then just order the FRPP/Termi control arms and slap the one on until you get it home and then install the other one.

Thats what I would love to do but he told me I had to the end of the week(friday) or its gonna be gone. So I need something quick. No time to wait on ordered parts. The old Ball joint is none exsistent theres nothing there the lower control arm is laying on the ground with the spring on top of it and a hole where the ball joint used to be. I was reading that all that crap had to come off. So its going to be just a get the car in the air, press in ball joint, compress spring to get lower control arm to bolt to the knuckle via ball joint bolt? That sound bout right?

Get it TOWED!! Sounds like you'll need a flat bed or just fix it to get it home. GL

With the a arm on the ground already, you won't need to compress the spring. Make sure you get the sway bar link through the"eye" and hook up the strut and caliper and should be good. GL
