I can tell you something that may be cheaper ad easier than swaping. Go find you a 5.0 foxbody that is clean and straight and keep the sixer for gas milage while you bang on the fox. An engine swap really isn't that hard. You don't HAVE to have springs but your front end will drop a little (if at all). YouDON'T have to have a different rear end. Yes the 8.8 is stronger but it will work just fine. It just won't last as long as an 8.8 would if you beat on it alot.Don't worry about the brakes because v6 and the GT's have the same setup.

If you lived in the central Texas area I would do it for ya and have it done in a couple of days if you had the parts. An engine that will last will cost more than a couple of hundred. I will sell you my 306 for $500. It runs just fine.

No offense, but I get so sick of people talking V8 swap without having a clue. Dropping in a V8 fuel injected pushrod into a 99-04 car isn't a direct swap by anymeans.

There is a ton of stuff involved to do it correctly.
If you do it yourself, it's one thing, but to have it done right by someone else, you're going to have to pay more than just going and getting a GT to start with.

If you own a V6 and want more power, build the V6. It's cheaper than swapping a V8 and you'll make more power than a stock V8. If you are VERY set on a V8 in your V6, make a worth while swap and get a 5.4L DOHC Navigator motor and build it up.

Seriuosly how hard is it to get a Kmember for the swap and do some wiring and run a few lines? Pushrod motors are pretty simple.lol Going to a 4.6 or a 5.4 would probably be easier if you had a donor to swap everything over like a few people have already stated. Yes, building the v6 would make about the same amount of power and be a little easier than swapping. Plus you still have cheaper insurance
