Soooo, at what point do you start to look to upgrading the transmission and rear end for strength?

Not to bring back an old post, or put this in the wrong place, but I may have overlooked it somewhere, but what are the gains if you put a shift kit in a stock, auto trans? (j-mod I guess its called?)

Thanks for the list VCS. I just bought a 96 and have been wanting to mod it to get some more power from it. Other people have told me much the same things as you have here. The big thing I got tho was that if you have one of the Mustang 3.8Ls the compression is too high to run more than a couple psi of boost with a turbo or supercharger. Do you know anything about that and what could be done to change that if I want a turbo?

? I'm confused as to what your trying to say... 11-12psi is the limit on the stock internals from a s/c, turbo I wouldn't do much more than 8.7psi on stock internals maybe less.

I was trying to say that in my research I found that (at my altitude at least) a turbo would not do much good with a 3.8L in the mustangs because the compression is already too high for the turbo to do much.
