Hey everyone,

What kind of parts can I add to help my acceleration time? I drive an 05 mustang. Right now my acceleration is terrible, so I want to improve it.

how fast you wanna go? = how much you wanna spend? you want it to feel and sound a lil faster, or are you wanting a 12 second 1/4 mile time? details, and well go from there.

 

well, price is no problem, i can spend whatever......just not all at once!! I want it to feel faster, and sound meaner! I don't really race on the drag strip, just around town, and whoever wants to race. My mustang is completely stock right now, so any part will work. Thanks!

PS The only thing I know I really want is a limited slip. Gotta have both rear wheels spinning!!!!

 

Yup a LSD and some 4.10's willwork nice for ur acceleration

 

I second the 4.10's. It will really kill your highway mileage, but if that doesn't matter it'll do just what you need.

 

Nah, I could care less about highway mileage. But where can I get some 4.10's?

americanmuscle.com has got gears..i think they have a gears and tuner combo, which would be nice.

 

I think you should get some sort of financial frame for these guys to work with, because if you keep saying stuff like 'price is no problem' or not caring about mileage someones going to fire out 'Sell the V6 and buy/finance a GT".

On a side note, getting old sucks, I remember being like 14 yrs old reading car craft and being amazed that '93 5L cobras and 350 TPI Z28's were pulling high 14's stock and thinking that was fast. 4.0L mustangs are doing that now and 'acceleration is terrible'. Man when your first cars are used 70's smog era left overs you'll know what terrible acceleration is all about.
