Iguess we've had different experiences. I agree completely with the gheyness of fake pins.

I just haven't had that many experiences with <10 sec cars losing hoods. I go to the track all the time and just don't see it. I may be missing it on the few times I don't go but who knows. Most of the time that I see hoods get blown is either cheap or the engine blows badly, forcing the hood up.

Well the 10 second lift off cars normally have everything preped, have been checked buy a track tech, etc. vs normal people who get hoods put on at a body shop, don't check their latch mech every few days, etc. Those guys have to pass tech at the track so its going to be rarer to see it happend at the track vs on the street.

Get the real pins if you do it. The fake ones are gay.

IMO... If you get want hood pins and are set on getting them just because you want them, then get real ones. Nothing is worse than fakecrap.

When I got my CF hood it would flex a lot just goin 65-70 mph soI got hood pins. SinceI was wanting a quick fixI got the adhesive and they worked well. Especially sinceI was never planning on goin over 100mph often. But definitely not for dress up...looks dumb if they are pointless. If you are goin to get them do it right and get the real ones where they dont just stick on.

I don't think there is anything wrong with getting them if it's because you want to or because you think it's needed. Either way, it's your car. I like the look they add, so I went and got them. Get a real hood pin set though. Mark it up, drill a couple holes, and you will be happy with the result.
