I have a mac sraight shot intake and the metal that covers the filter is hitting metal on metal it is an annoying sound do you think it would be alright to take off the thing that is covering the filter? Gracias

The metal is only a heat shield, so don't worry about debris or anything. make sure everything came in the package, you may be missing some hardware. MAC is real good about not sending everything needed.

the heat shield, in imho opinion, doesnt do all that much. 1-the recirculation air in the nay, when driving, should be fairly fresh, 2-the intake tube is metal, and gets heated up on its way to the intake manifold anyway, and 3-if the heat shield is metal, its gonna heat up and give off heat as well, yes? you should be able to take it off...but it u wanna keep it on, play with the rubber hose connectors to adjust the intake, or bolt the heatshield to the engine bay with a couple of screws so it doesn move, and you are good.
