Default A split port swap?

How much would be the benefits (as hp gains)in doinga spilt port swap on my 98? Some other questions are how much would it cost, what parts do I need, where can I get the parts, where can I get it done, and are there any cons if I do the swap? Any information would be appreciated. thank you

Go to www.supersixmotorsports.com and look in the garage sale section. They sell the complete kit for $800. After the install and getting a tune you'll go from 130rwhp to 160rwhp.

You can buy everything youneed from CRT Racing preformance or you can get a donor motor from a 99-04 engine (cheapest way to go). Or you can buy all the pieces on ebay over time. Youll need the upper and lower intakes, new heads, new returnless fuel rails, upgade your fuel pump (I dont remember if you have to or if its just recomended), plus a new wiring harness to work with the new engine part. This is just for starters, Im sure I have forgotten alot so use the search button and it will help you find what you need.

Do an M-90 install. It'll cost roughly teh same and even though the HP gains are only slightly higher than the split-port, the TQ gains are well worth it.

M-90 isn't that a super charger? Which would be a better choice the spilt port or getting gears and a T-lok?

Yes the m90 is a supercharger. Unless you are a experienced mechanic I wouldn't suggest doing the m90 swap as it does require some ingenuity to put together.

you can actually learn a lot of info just by searching the old threads. youll get faster answers that way. when i first joined, i learned that time and surfing around the old threads that looked applicable to whatever ? i had was the best teacher.

as far as what an m-90 would cost, it would be whatever you found one for. search used m-90 on ebay motors, youll find some there. personally, id go with the split port swap, as youll have more options for higher hp numbers if/when you wanna upgrade (i.e. add an m112, the cobra supercharger). if you get the m-90 and want higher numbers, eh, youll probably be scrapping it for another type of blower, or the split port swap, as it is not compatible with the 99-04s.

good luck.
