Default Drivers Side Window Problem

Well I finally got it to go up... My dad did something and it went up, but then today I had it all the way down and it got stuck again. So I got home, took the door apart, and looked... I was lost, so I took it to my friend, and he brought out some sort of mallet. He hit it once and it worked. However, when I was leaving it stopped again, so he hit it again. He hit it around where the motor is, and where the little door pocket is with the panel on (no wonder why I was hitting the door and it still didn't help). So with this info, what do you guys think it could be? Loose? Or is the motor going? Because it only doesn't go up when the window is all the way down.

Yeah, I used to do that trick for awhile, but it will eventually get worse and get stuck all the way. Sounds like the bushings in the motor are going. It's a common problem with the window motors. I would either rebuild the motor yourself, or shell out the 60 - 80 bucks from ebay for a new one. I have enclosed a link for the bushings if you want to rebuild it. It's a pretty simple job. GL

I would rebuild or replace the motor, check all connections while the door panel is off. I hope you fix it, there such a pain in the neck!! [:@]

Well mine is a 2000 and that says 79-95... Does it really matter? And also, I’ve been having a tough time trying to get the window motor off\\; The screws (the hexagon head shaped things) are hard to get off... Can you give me a basic rundown of what to do? Thanks a lot for all your help JKs.

If your going to replace/rebuild one side, I would do the other side too. When one goes out the other side probably isnt to far away.

Good luck,
