Default Battery Light Problem

So i was driving yesterday and i noticed that my battery light was on. I kept driving not paying attention to it, so after drving some more, i noticed that the light triggers on if i go over 1500 rpm's and off maybe around 2000 and on at 2500. I didn't go any higher but i will try it tomorrow. Any idea of what could be wrong?

most likely a bad alternator, have the charging system checked over

Yup, I agree, go have the ALT checked for free at napa, autozone, kragen, anywhere like that. You could also take the battery down to while you are at it. Couldn't hurt. GL

+2 on the alt problem. especially if the light comes on at different engine speeds, as the alternator is, of course, run from the belt.
